FROM A BASIC PRINCIPLE OF PHYSICS: MORE HEAT BEYOND ALL EXPECTATIONS

The operation of Famar boilers is based on the principle that the greatest amount of heat is contained within the flue gases (exhaust fumes). “In fact, if we try to place the palm of our hand to the side of a burner at a short distance, we feel no heat. If, on the contrary, we place the same hand above the flame, even at a certain distance, we are immediately burned.” This proves that the greatest amount of heat is contained in the flue gases, and the operation of Famar boilers is based on this very principle. Specifically, the fumes are channeled into the heat exchanger (patented system), the heart of every Famar boiler, which consists of appropriately sized honeycomb ducts. In these sections, the drawn-in fumes are forced to create vortices, exchanging energy not only through contact but also through convection (advection). Due to its unique shape and design, the exchanger heats up to incandescence, exceeding the lysis temperature of the smoke particles. This results in the release of additional energy which is transferred to the water circulating in the jacket, lowering the temperature of the flue gases exiting the chimney flue, while also acting as an abatement cyclone.

SELF-CLEANING HEAT GENERATORS

The exclusivity and capacity of the Famar heat exchanger—sized and optimized to the maximum for each boiler—brilliantly avoids the typical problem of all water-based wood biomass boilers: the buildup of combustion residues (e.g., creosote, pitch, and others) on cold surfaces. A layer formed this way blocks heat exchange by 5% for every millimeter deposited, slows down combustion, lowers thermal efficiency, and is difficult to remove. The Famar exchanger, having fins welded onto the contact surface (fixed and non-removable), makes the structure a dry chamber (patented system). As the flue gases pass through, it becomes incandescent, exceeding the lysis temperature of unburned smoke particles and distillates, further burning them. By burning these combustion deposits, additional energy is produced, and they are transformed into easily removable ash. EFFICIENCY ALWAYS AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL Throughout the life of the boiler, the efficiency remains constant from the first to the last day of use. Because no creosote accumulation or unburned deposits occur in the exchanger, you have the advantage of being able to burn any type of wood or biomass.

Construction technologies that optimize performance

Choosing Famar means entering a world made of passion and attention to detail, of products in which advanced technologies and craftsmanship coexist, in addition to a rigorous attention to every detail of the production cycle. All enclosed in a reality of 100% Made in Italy excellence.

Internal production cycle

The entire production cycle takes place exclusively in the historic Famar Brevetti plant, which is spread over a total area of approximately 6,000 square meters. All the processing phases, from design to the choice of materials, from laser cutting and punching to welding, from assembly to final testing, are internally certified by means of quality control reports while respecting the environment.

Quality certifications

A passion for “things done well” also translates into the safety of the people who welcome the Famar models into their home. For this reason, every single product is subjected to an accurate test check before packaging. As a further guarantee of maximum safety, the products are tested by the most important Italian and European laboratories that verify compliance with the rules for efficiency, safety, and environmental pollution.
