Thermocombi: high engineering for combined wood, pellet, and
multi-fuel combustion.
The Famar heating fireplace can be equipped upon request with
the Thermocombi kit; a highly innovative system with high
performance in combined combustion. It was designed for those
who love the warmth and tranquility of a wood-burning hearth
but do not want to give up the automation of a pellet stove. It is,
in fact, the only true combined system that manages to burn by
automatically switching between wood, pellets, or multi-fuel,
guaranteeing the presence of all safety features required by law
as well as additional safety measures.
Upon order, the kit can be mounted at any distance from the
fireplace (max 2m) depending on the characteristics of the
home, or even assembled on Famar heating fireplaces already
installed, without the need for major interventions to the
cladding or the combustion chamber. The fireplace can also be
ordered with a simple request for preparation in the combustion
chamber to then proceed with the subsequent installation of the
Thermocombi.

"MEMORY FIRE" SYSTEM FOR FAST, INFALLIBLE,
AND ECONOMICAL IGNITIONS
A major advantage of the Thermocombi is the absolute
absence of an ignition glow plug, masterfully replaced by the
more advantageous "Memory Fire" system. After the first
seasonal ignition (which is done manually), this system
monitors the temperature of the embers via a probe placed
beneath the burner to guarantee immediate and efficient
automatic ignition. When the system detects a drop in the
temperature of the embers, it performs a small pellet feed to
restore the ember content in the burner. The system is thus
always ready for new ignitions without waiting for fuel
loading times. Furthermore, the lack of a glow plug allows for
savings on the wear-and-tear costs of the component itself.
PELLET LOADER AND BURNER
In the Famar Thermocombi, the transition from wood
combustion to pellet combustion and vice versa occurs
completely automatically: in the same combustion chamber,
once the wood is finished, pellet combustion begins inside the
burner. The loading starts automatically because it is remotely
connected to the room thermostat or managed via
programmed ignition and shutdown time slots. Conversely, if
you wish to burn wood, simply insert logs into the combustion
chamber; the software, through its attached sensors, adapts to
the change in fuel and automatically reduces the power level
to a minimum or proceeds to a total shutdown (as selected),
igniting the wood combustion. Therefore, the management
system switches operation from one fuel to another, always
maintaining the heating fireplace and the system at the
desired temperature, until the user manually decides to turn
off the multi-fuel management.
