PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

ACCORDING TO A FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF PHYSICS, HEAT BEYOND ALL EXPECTATION.

“The operation of Famar boilers is based on the principle that the greatest amount of heat is contained in the flue gases. For example, if we place our hand at a short distance from the stove, we feel no heat. However, if we place our hand above the flame, even with some distance, we feel an intense heat. This shows that the greatest amount of heat is contained in the flue gases, and this principle is the basis of the functioning of Famar boilers. The flue gases are conveyed into the patented heat exchanger system- the heart of every Famar boiler- which is made up of tubular ducts. The aspirated fumes are forced to make vortices, exchanging energy not only through contact but also through convection (induction). The exchanger is then further heated by the gasses’ energy, causing it to glow and release additional energy, which is then transferred to the water circulating in the cavity. This reduces the temperature of the fumes coming out of the flue as well as acting as a reduction cyclone.”

The exclusivity and high capacity of the Famar heat exchanger, which is optimized for each boiler, brilliantly avoids the typical problem of all water boilers that use woody biomass: the deposition of combustion residues (such as creosote, pitch, and others) on cold surfaces. This layer blocks heat exchange by 5% for each millimeter deposited, slows down combustion, lowers thermal efficiency, and is difficult to eliminate. The Famar heat exchanger has fins welded to the contact surface, making the structure a dry chamber (patented system) that becomes incandescent when gases pass through, exceeding the incandescent temperature of unburned smoke particles and distillates, which are further burned. These combustion deposits burn and produce additional energy, transforming into easily removable ash. The boiler efficiency remains constant throughout its life, from the first to the last day of use, as no creosote or unburned deposits accumulate in the heat exchanger, allowing the combustion of any type of wood or biomass.
